A social scientist by training, KamlaBhasin has been deeply engaged for over 35 years with issues of gender, development, peace, identity politics, militarization, human rights and democracy, exploring and articulating connections between them and synergies between different movements. She is a founder-member or member of several women's groups and voluntary organizations in India, and of a few regional and international organizations and networks.
From 1976 to 2001 she worked with the FAO of the UN, supporting innovative NGO initiatives for empowering marginalized people, especially women, in South East Asia and South Asia
She currently works as an advisor with SANGAT- a South Asian feminist network, and with Jagori-Women’s Resource and Training Centre, New Delhi and JagoriGrameen in Himachal Pradesh as an active member. She is also co-chair of the worldwide network ‘Peace Women Across the Globe’.
Over the years she has been conducting workshops for activists, policy makers, Parliamentarians, police and others focused on gender, sustainable development and human rights, at the local, national and South Asian levels. She has written several books, songs and slogans for the women's movement, written books for children and created posters and banners for various movements. She sings passionately and spiritedly wherever and whenever she can.

Sathyasree Goswami works as the Project Director of Youth Innovation Fund in the National Foundation for India (NFI) that facilitates innovations on gender justice intervention amongst young people in India. She has been working in the field of sexuality both as an implementer and a trainer for the past seven years. Before joining NFI she had been a development practitioner, researcher, trainer and organizational process facilitator for over 18 years. She has been the founder of Rural Volunteers Centre- an NGO in Assam, Payana- a community NGO of sexual minority community in Bangalore; and promoter of Foresee Social.
